    Thrifting Experience!

Last week I discovered a brand new thrift store – but this one was on a much larger scale than anything I’ve ever been to before. It was in the center of Halifax, Nova Scotia and it was called The Funky Flea thrift market. It’s only open on Sundays from 9-3 and is an indoor thrift market on the site of the Halifax Exhibition Center. The market doesn’t just sell clothes – it sells anything from vintage clothing to lawnmowers. There are literally hundreds of different vendors all under the one roof, and you can even buy something to eat while you’re there too! I went in primarily looking for…

    Thrift Store Haul!

So, anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE thrift stores. I have been thrifting for around 7 years now and have found some really good bargains along the way. I could never understand why people would pay over $100 for a pair of jeans that may or may not fit them in a few weeks (or is that just me) when they can get the same pair (or another name brand pair) from a thrift store for less than $5! I tend to go to thrift stores whenever I’m in town (usually once a week though if I’m honest – don’t judge). I love the fact that I can…

    Battling SIBO

So, as promised, I thought it would be good to give you all an update on my last Naturopath appointment. When I went for my first visit I went through all of my symptoms with the Naturopath. From what I told her, she was pretty convinced that I did, in fact, have SIBO. She had previously given me a breath test kit to perform at home, from which she would be able to tell whether I did have it, and to what severity. The breath test seemed a little daunting and confusing, but I managed to figure it out. Before I could do the test I had to do a…

    Drinking Tour in The Valley

Today was a good day! I went with a few friends to check out a couple of local drinking establishments in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. Some of these I had been to before (such as Boston Pizza), but most of them I hadn’t, so this was a great way for me to try out new drinks. Luckily for us, one of my friends parents offered to “chaffeur” us around so that we could all enjoy the booze! (Shout out to Maddi’s mom for stepping up). First on the list was Lucketts Vineyard in Wolfville. Whilst at Luckett’s, we did a tour of the wine making facility and the…

    My Journey to Wellness!

As most of you already know, I’m currently attending University. And, for anyone who has attended University and stayed on campus, you will know that the food there is questionable most of the time. That being said, I managed to gain a chunk of weight whilst being there. So, when I returned home for the summer my goal was to get my health in check, clean up my diet, lose a little weight and start exercising again. CHANGING UP MY DIET Since eating a ton of “junk food” whilst on campus, I decided the first food groups to go would be gluten and dairy. To be honest, whenever I ate…

    Anyone for breakfast….

It’s true that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Well, it is for me anyway. Is it just me who wakes up ravenous, or do you all feel like that too? I love mixing up my breakfast choices. Some days I feel like bacon and eggs, and others I feel a little boujee! I love feeling like I’m indulging myself at breakfast, and so I thought I’d share some of my ideas with you. Ahhhh, iced coffee. My absolute go-to every day! I mean literally every day – and sometimes twice or three times a day depending on how I feel. Since I’m dairy free, I only…

    Self Care!

I like to think of self care as doing the things that you enjoy, whether it’s sitting down with a good book, making yourself an iced coffee or treating yourself to a new outfit! Whatever it may be, I’m here to give you some ideas for self care! I always like to have a good breakfast first thing in the morning (or whenever I actually get up, which is often nearer brunch than breakfast). Here are a few of my favorite breakfasts. Loaded Omelette – Made with eggs, dairy free cheese, tomatoes, ham and peppers! This breakfast is full of healthy fats and protein! One of my favorites. Smoothie Bowl…

    Downtown can be artsy…

Decided to go for a random drive downtown. I hadn’t noticed before all of the vibrant colors out there, so wanted to capture some of the pictures to share with you. I discovered this picture on a wall down whilst we were just walking around. We decided to check out Vandal Donuts on our visit. I mean who doesn’t like donuts?? Another donut shop! Yes, I have an obsession – don’t judge! And then to finish the day off we went and get milkshakes from a store in Bedford!

    Let’s play dress up!

Let’s play dress up! When it comes to spring/summer dressing I’m all in favor of lightweight fabrics and easy styles. Check out these fun outfits I have put together.   A classic oversized button-up is a must-have in everyone’s closet! Pair this with some chunky jewelry and jeans and you’ve got a simple but stylish outfit. Oversized button-down shirts are my go-to for an easy laid back vibe! I have quite a few hanging in my closet, from plain white shirts to stripes. I love this striped shirt as you can mix and match it with lots of different colors. You can be as daring as you like with button-down…
